When looking into homeschooling, it may seem like a lot of work teaching your student. Luckily there’s a number of resources that can help you with one being an online homeschool program. These programs are designed to be both a supplement as well as a full curriculum. Let’s discuss what this means.

Online Based Homeschool Programs

These programs help parents in a variety of ways. The primary way is providing online instruction for students in the form of classes. While these classes can be taken in addition to your homeschooling curriculum they can also be taken as a full time option. This means a student can learn from home without you needing to do the teaching.

Our online-based learning platform: Tenney School Live allows families to choose whether their student is full time or part time. This means the entire curriculum is modular-based, allowing you to pick and choose which classes you’d like to take with our teachers. Many families opt to go the hybrid route. This can be in the form of having parents teaching the core curriculum while students enroll in one or more of our electives. Not every family is equipped to teach art, Spanish, or music which is where our program can step in.

Alternatively, many families choose to enroll full-time with us through our online private school program. This is the perfect opportunity for students to get a private school education from the comfort of their own home. It’s a great choice for parents who are too busy to teach their student full-time or want to try something new.

What Makes Our Program Different?

Our teachers are experienced, one-to-one private school teachers. All of them are current, in person teachers at our private school: The Tenney School. When a student enrolls in our online program, they meet with their teachers, one-to-one for every core academic subject. This type of learning style encourages students to reach their full potential. A teacher can customize the class’s curriculum to match the pace of the student. Is the student understanding the material quickly? They’ll speed up the class. Are they struggling with a concept? They can slow the class down to really make sure the student understands everything before continuing on. It should be noted that all of our classes are taught via TEAMs in a live setting as well!

The one-to-one learning style works wonders for students who are gifted, have a learning difference, or prefer a more individualized learning environment! While our core classes are taught one-to-one, we offer online group classes in the form of our electives. What’s more is both music and art are both taught in small groups of 3 – 7. Furthermore, the reason for this is that it gives online students the opportunity to talk and discuss with their peers!
