Between live classes, students work on assignments, projects, or skill-building exercises at their own pace. Teachers are always available for quick questions or extra help through our online platform.
3. Teacher Feedback & Check-Ins
Progress isn’t left to chance. Teachers provide regular feedback, guide study strategies, and adjust the pace to ensure every student is moving forward with confidence.
4. Flexible Breaks & Practice Time
We build in time for outside obligations. The schedule works around the student’s life so they never have to choose between learning and their passions.
Example Schedule
The below schedule is a general representation of how a middle school student schedule is constructed at The Tenney School. Each student receives his/her own individual schedule. The Tenney School operates on 30-minute class periods. Some classes are scheduled for two consecutive periods. Schedules will vary from day-to-day, but over the course of the week will generally consist of equal parts:
- One-to-one Instruction (colored blocks with teacher’s name)
- Classroom instruction for Labs & Electives (white blocks with room numbers)
- Homeroom (blank white blocks)

We also offer college-level courses for upper-level high school students to begin earning college credits while still in high school.
